Lightroom 1.1. coming!

Time on the low step-in pricing of Lightroom is running out! I still see some copies here and there.

He who laughs last.....laughs best!

Discovered a new feature in Lightroom! Some of my India pictures , made in March, I added coordinates to. These were recorded with the little Sony GPS on the red bag: not everybody was impressed :-)

But after reading them into the jpg with the Sony software that came with the GPS, they are recorded in the EXIF data of the picture, AND Lightroom reads them! See in the blue oval (Click on the picture to get a bigger view.

When in Lightroom you click on the arrow you get this page:

See the Taj Mahal far in the back of the picture and find it on the Google map: The coordinates exactly show the terrace we were having a beer!

I discovered this works also very well with Garmin gpx files and Robogeo.

Home Pano!

Hallo!

Here you see a nice example of a Home Pano. Made from the balcony of my home in the center of Amsterdam, with the pano-setup I took over from Juergen at Druegelte.

Quite interesting is that you can clearly see how PtGui stiches the pictures:

· The balcony railing is of course in reality straight. Also in the separate pictures.

· To compensate for the change of view from the middle to the sides, PtGui somehow creates a rounded transition from photo to photo, resulting in a totally unreal but quite understandable picture.

· Once you realize that every vertical slice is a perfect picture on its own, the combination makes it new.

If you click on the picture you get a bigger view, same as with Klaus' pictures. Of course this does not happen when you upload a (as example) 320x240 pixel picture: nothing to enlarge there.

PT GUI HDR

Hallo Freunde

ich habe es soeben probiert. der Workflow ist wie folgt:
1. Bilder mit Autobrckeding erstellen
2. Aus RAW einfach TIFF erzeugen
3. Tiff dateien in PT Gui 7.0 beta laden.
5. Alline Images klicken.
6. Dialog 1 wählen
7. Panorama erstellen und bei Ausgabe so wählen, dass ihr die 3 fertigen gestichten Panoramen(ein panorama je HDR layer) erhaltet.
8. Diese 3 Bilder in Photomatix offnen und tonemapping machen.

fertig.

Achtung PT Gui 7.0 beta muss im Advanced mode betrieben werden.

Erstellung von HDR-Panos

In der Zeitschrift CHIP wird beschrieben, wie Panorama-Aufnahmen unter Verwendung von HDR mit Hilfe des Programms "PHOTOMATIX" erzeugt werden können. Ein hoch interessanter Artikel. Ihr findet ihn unter http://www.mangelsen.de/anlagen/panos01.pdf zum Download. Bei Problemen, bitte melden.

PTGUI HDR

JAAAAAAAAAA, Ich habe einen Blog erstellt

Hallo Freunde
Ich habe heute mit PTGUI kommuniziert wegen der HDR Geschichte in der version 7. Man sagte mir dass es keinen Sinn macht aus einem RAW File einen HDR zu erstellen weil ein RAW File nur 10 oder 12 Bitt Farbtiefe hat, und somit ein 16 Bit Tiff alle informationen enthält. Das habe ich sofort getestet und werde nun das unmögliche wagen. Ich wage es die beiden Beispielbilder hier hochzuladen. Mal sehen ob ich das schaffe. Was der nette kerl bei PTGUI sagt ist natürlich Quatsch. Fakt ist allerdings, dass man in der version 7 von PT Gui direkt HDR Panoramen erstellen kann. Die Qualität ist aber nicht so gut wie in Photomatix. Zumindest sehe ich das bis jetzt so. ist ja noch eine betaversion.
